Group in Top-100 fastest growing hi-tech
businesses in Britain!
Warrington-based Caldwells Group has secured its place in The Sunday
Times 2006 Tech Track 100 list which ranks Britain's top 100 fastest-growing
private tech companies . The placement comes after a rigorous
selection process adjudicated by the sponsors Microsoft and
PriceWaterHouseCoopers.
IESA grew out of a company called Caldwells Group,
which celebrates its 113th birthday this year. Caldwells started as a
traditional manufacturer of engineering goods and was re-invented a century
later by the founder's great, great grandson, Ben Caldwell. The Warrington
firm invested heavily in IT, and now uses its software to manage clients'
supply chains. Contracts with customers such as Pilkington and Siemens have
boosted sales 59% a year from £7.4m in 2003 to £18.8m in 2005.
Caldwells Group is the UK’s most innovative provider in the supply of
engineering stores management for clients in the manufacturing sector. With
its origins in the supply of tools and engineering supplies, Caldwells’
current portfolio ranges from state-of-the-art automated tool dispensers to
online store management solutions. The company’s client list continues to
grow and includes multinational organisations such as Pilkington, Siemens,
ConvaTec, Rhodia ,SCA and Visteon.
Ben Caldwell said: “This is a great acknowledgement of the
achievements we have made over the last ten years. The continuing growth we
are seeing fully justifies the hard decisions made ten years ago. This
placement gives us an indication of where we sit, and comes at an crucial
time, as we expand our operations and systems further into Europe. It is a
great achievement for all the team here at Caldwells Group who have worked
so hard and imaginatively”
